  • Lift to open the scanner lid and remove the tape from it
  • Close the scanner lid
  • Remove the internal packing in the cartridge access door
  • Remove other packing present in the Paper tray

Steps to Install the Ink Cartridges:

  • Check the Printer power is ON
  • Locate the Cartridge access door and remove its latch from the top of the printer, Now Pull Up the Cartridge access door to gain access to ink cartridges
  • Remove the latches present above the ink cartridges slot
  • Remove the Ink Cartridge from its package and peel off the plastic tape
  • Slide the new cartridge in the categorized slot until it firmly fits
  • Affix the Cartridge latches after the ink cartridges are installed
  • Push Down to close the Cartridge access door and latch it on to Printer

Setting up Printer Sleep Mode:

Sleep Mode is used in order to reduce the Power usage. Once the initial setup is completed for the 123 HP Officejet 5740 Printer then by default the device goes to Sleep Mode in 5 minutes, if left undisturbed. You can change the time for Sleep Mode option using Printer Control Panel.

Set up Sleep Mode Time:

  • A Solid blue light shows the readiness of the Wireless connection to Print
  • A Slow blinking light indicates a Wireless connection enabled, however, the printer is not synchronized with the network. Then make sure your printer is within the wireless signal range
  • A Fast blinking light indicates wireless connection error. Refer to the displayed message in the Printer
  • No Light indicates wireless connection to be OFF.
